A sidecar is a motorcycle attachment that is used to transport either passengers or cargo. Sidecars are nothing new. They’ve been around almost as long as motorcycles. The last sidecar heyday in North America was in the sixties; but, just like paisley and go-go boots, they’re making a comeback.
URAL sidecar rigs are licensed under provisions of the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act as motorcycles, and must abide by the same rules and regulations as any other motorized vehicle traveling on provincial roadways. Accidents can happen; but rest assured that your guides are experienced motorcycle riders with unblemished driving records, and will be transporting you as safely as possible.
There is no minimum age requirement for motorcycle passengers in the province of Nova Scotia. Passengers in the sidecar can be most any age, but we would prefer that those riding on the back of the motorcycle be at least ten years of age, and able to follow the directions of the driver/guide.
An experienced and licensed guide will be driving the sidecar rig. That gives you the chance to see the sights without the distraction of driving.
Helmets are mandatory for motorcyclists in the province of Nova Scotia and are provided by Bluenose Sidecar Tours Inc.
Tours can book up quickly, so it is always best to book your tour as early as possible. We will make every effort to accommodate your request.
There is a saying here in Nova Scotia: If you don’t like the weather; blink and it will change. Your tour will be cancelled at no cost to you if there is constant rain in the area. The tour may still take place if there is only a light intermittent drizzle. We want you to be comfortable during your visit.
Each sidecar is only able to carry two passengers at any given time. We are a small company, but we can arrange a group tour if people are willing to take turns over the course of one or several days. Contact us, and we’ll see what we can do.
We are also available for proms, weddings, birthday parties, and other events at an hourly rate.
